The customer had a filling machine at the plant to fill and close medicine bottles. The problem related to the machine PLC, motors, and custom sensors, which were developed by the manufacturer.
When the machine had a problem or modifications needed to be made, only the manufacturer could do so, with intervention times that were very long and costly.
SIA revamped the machine and made it ‘commercial’, providing a new electrical panel with PLC, new motors and sensors, and developed new control and monitoring software with products available on the market. A new HMI was also added.
All these features were implemented using Siemens equipment, so that spare parts could be found easily on the market, and SIA could provide quick assistance.
The work was completed in collaboration with a company that dealt with the mechanical aspects, modifying the machine to adapt it to new standards.
